Happiness is the key to living longer, regardless of your income, marital status or even your health.
This is according to the results of a pioneering 30 year long study by researchers at University of North Carolina. Happiness really is the key to living longer.
The study found that people of all ages who considered themselves ‘not too happy’, were 14% more likely to have died by the end of the 30 year study, than those who thought of themselves as ‘very happy’.
It’s thought that one explanation for happiness helping you to live a long life, is that happier people can handle stress better, and also have a strong group of friends.
Whatever the reasons, if you want to live longer then happiness is the way.
