Nutritional Benefits

Flatter Tummies & Weight Loss... Wheatgrass can help as part of your diet plan, because it's high in fibre. High fibre foods help you to feel fuller for longer, so you're less inclined to over-eat.

According to the NHS website, "Fibre has many health benefits. It can help prevent heart disease, diabetes, weight gain, some cancers, and improve digestive health".

However, many of us don't get enough fibre. The UK average is just 14g a day, and you should aim for at least 18g a day. Wheatgrass contributes to your recommended daily fibre intake, and 10g of Wheatgrass will provide about 4.7g of fibre.

Digestive Health... Wheatgrass contains Calcium which contributes to the normal function of digestive enzymes, while Zinc to normal carbohydrate metabolism, normal acid-base metabolism, normal macronutrient metabolism, and normal metabolism of fatty acids.

Reducing Tiredness... Vitamin B2 and Iron, contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Vitamins B1, B2, Calcium, Phosphorus, Copper and Iron to normal energy-producing metabolism, and Iron to normal oxygen transport in the body.

Skin, Hair & Nails... There are vitamins and minerals in Wheatgrass including vitamins B1, B2 and Zinc, which contribute to the maintenance of normal skin, Zinc to normal hair and nails and Copper to normal hair and skin pigmentation.

Mental Health... Vitamin B1 contributes to normal psychological function. Iron and Zinc to normal cognitive function, and Calcium to normal neurotransmission.

Heart & Blood Pressure... Potassium and Calcium support normal muscle function, Vitamin B1 to the normal function of the heart, and Potassium also contributes to the maintenance of normal blood pressure.

Vitamin B2 contributes to the maintenance of normal red blood cells, and Iron to normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin. Calcium contributes to normal blood clotting.

Sexual and Physical Health... Zinc contributes to normal fertility and reproduction. Vitamins B1, B2, Magnesium, Potassium and Copper contribute to the normal function of the nervous system, and Iron to the normal function of the immune system.

Wheatgrass is a natural source of antioxidants including Vitamins B2, and E and both contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
